Beacon Hill Chimney Spackled

KathieB

The chimney will be painted the same color as the siding on the house and then aged. Sophia and her husband (I really should give him a name) would not put up with cracked plaster showing the underlying bricks, so their handyman keeps it in good repair. I'm not sure how the handyman operates, but I used a wet fingertip to smooth the Spackle, fill in the openings between pieces, and round the edges.

Spackle is a brand name for polyfilla. I think that's what it's called in Europe. Joint compound (aka wallboard mud) used to smooth the joints and nail dents in wallboard also works well.

Yes I know what polyfilla is. May I copy-cat you on the chimney please? Its looking good - I checked out your blog - also got the idea from you to put my painted pieces on spagetti. Nice one!
