I can see why you wouldn't want to cover up that amazing siding... but the shutter do add so much character... especially since you are going shabby chic with the house.... they look lovely... and I still am in love with those window boxes

Yep...meant to be.

I think maybe the original shutters had fallen off and rotted away, then were replaced recently:-) The paint on the shutters is a little newer and less aged.
