Willow - front closeup

I decided that this house needed shutters to break up the dark stone and accent the windows; I added louvres, each slat one by one-- took a while, but I really like the look.

I love the texture and detail of all your finishes, and also the light and shadow in the photo that highlights it. Lovely house!

I thought of doing this with my willow shutters but figured I would end up messing them up. So I decided to take out the inserts of the top layer and bevel sand them on the edges and on the insides of the outer trim. Then I laid it all back together and glued it on the backing piece. I have to decide how to finish the sandwiched edges because this greenleaf kit is SO ROUGH! But, I think they will come out looking nice and more traditional than the simplistic squared framing it was before! Love your house thanks for sharing. I plan to do a mix of styro-stone and stucco on mine, so I love seeing a glimpse of what it can look like. I am also tempted to add a balcony to the middle top window and make the front door a double door. I am going for a provencal cottage vibe... but this is my first ever dollhouse assembly so I am in over my head!
