The shingles were a bunch of round-ended ones that I had leftover from various houses, but I didn't want round-end for this house-- too cutesy. So all the rounded ends were positioned up so they'd be hidden but I'd still get the shingle length. I used a paint wash of gray and "antique silver" to paint the shingles; I had originally thought slate, but then thought that would be too dark for the rest of the house.
