Entry name: Asahi Tea House

Asahi means morning sun, an apt name for a project that was usually constructed in the early morning hours. I used the farm stand and skylight roof additions.

Nearly everything, including the giant bonsai, bridge, rain chain, and tatami mats were made from scratch; many using tips & tricks found from our forum members. Only a few pieces were purchased premade, this includes the crane sculpture by Barbara Meyer and a few pottery pieces by Sue Dix. The gong and Hostas were made from kits. Absolutely everything stone was either carved from pink insulation foam or made from Paperclay. The front window is made of mat board, bass wood, and rice paper.
