I truncated the house and added a porch; this view is similar to an illustration in one of the Frog and Toad stories (the one where Toad doesn't want to get out of bed), with the fence-line and the mailbox. The "grass" is some old yarn that I had gotten at a thrift store a couple years ago and never figured out a use for-- it suddenly occurred to me that it would make an interesting ground cover, so I punched it into the glue-covered styrofoam base with a skewer, "painted" (well, "globbed on" would be a better description) with a dirty wash, and punctuated with bits of white "flower" from some old plastic flower scraps.
