Lamp off

Lily_Isle

You can't really see the pink shade with the light on, but I think it'll add a nice accent color when it's off.

I really like the staircase. It is a perfect spot where the bathroom had been. Where are you putting the bath?

Thanks guys! I haven't cut the hole for the bottom stair yet, but I'm doing the same thing down below as well. I'm rearranging the traditional "kitchen" into a small, country dining room with the spiral stair in front of the bay window (and the kitchen is relocated to where the dining room usually is.) I wanted the second-floor landing you see in this picture to be a writing alcove with a desk and maybe a book case or two. I've relocated the bath to the second bedroom. It's going to have a big picture window and a soaking tub by the fireplace :) I'm stuck on two ideas right now...making this second floor landing a two storey room, and/or adding an addition on the back of the house for a little extra room. I just think that stair would look so awesome with a vaulted ceiling above, but I need room for my library and art studio too! Gosh, mini-ing is so hard! :p

I've just received my Fairfield kit and I love the changes you have made - my mind is brimming with ideas. The stairs look wonderful where you have put them. I'll have to do a dry fit and experiment.

Thanks Sandie! The stairs are actually part of a double spiral stair that rises from the bottom floor. I have to move these out a bit from the back wall to get enough height clearance (we can't have our little dolls bumping their heads on the cieling, now can we?) but I think that will make the look more dramatic. Also, I'm removing the third floor in this area for a vaulted ceiling. Can't wait to see your Fairfield and your ideas!
