I decided to try my hand at creating my own lighting in half-scale because I just don't like the scale look of regular 1/2" scale lights, plus $15-$20 a light just isn't in my small-scale budget. I'm pretty excited about what I've done so far! In scale, this lamp stands about 2 ft tall and the shade is about 6" wide. I've used a chip led from Evan Designs in soft white. The shade is a pink, plastic tulip shaped bead. I'll bronze the stem and base to make everything tie together for the final version. I'm showing it in the alcove beneath the unfinished curved stair I've been working on for a couple of weeks. I'm thinking this will ultimately end up next to a reading chair. It just has a reading light feel to it.

Oooh. I do mostly 1:24...you've inspired me to try to make my own lighting. I agree with you. The lighting options in half scale are not terribly inspiring.

biomom, check out JoAnn's for the lamp shade! They are selling these plastic flower shaped beads that are perfect size. Although I had to buy all the components in larger quantities, if I break down everything individually, this light probably cost less than $5 in materials. I did some fiber optic candles too...I'll post them shortly!
