Add Detail

kreativitea75

Next, I decided I wanted to add the detail of individual boards, so I am drawing in end lines starting at random lengths, but less than 2", which will be the length of the rest of the boards. I did this so that it would stagger the lines, as well as reflect real life flooring that is pieced to fit at the ends.

It seems like a lot of work, but it only took about an hour to draw the lines and another hour to score them. I figure another couple hours to add the plank details and then they will be ready to stain. It's work, but I think it is going to look to-scale and its free!

Anxious to see when finished. How do you keep the xacto blade at the same depth? Meticulously done!

I don't! The wood is pretty hard so I think it should be ok. Guess I'll find out!
