vanity

WyckedWood

Today I worked on getting this vanity painted. It was a stained walnut color. I love it because its nice and wide and will hold lots of goodies! For now I have a sewing basket on it, but Im wanting to find a nice dresser set of mirror, combs, etc, and Id love a set of lotions. Anyways..I first painted it white, then blue, then yellow then cream, then sanded it so that it would look like it had been painted different colors over the years...which it was, but not over many years...over several hours;-) If you look in the larger version of the picture you can see all of the different colors where ive sanded it. Turned out OK, but I had several panic attacks, its not easy taking a nice, expensive piece of furniture, perfectly finished and mucking it up on purpose, you just have to believe in the end result, sometimes I dont believe.

I wanted to share this last picture...Im taking a break for awhile because my house is falling down around my ears, I HAVE to go get some food and bring it into the house and I think my husband will divorce me soon if the laundry pile gets any higher LOL...take care everyone, see ya soon and thank u for all of your kind words and support! XO

Had to laugh, my dollhouses have many layers of paint on as well! Your vanity looks old and loved, you did a really nice job!

Don't you hate how real life interferes with mini making? I think clean clothes and food are overrated!

I have to laugh, since I started on this mini venture I have found my house and my poor husband feeling a bit neglected. what kind of paint did you use?
