51 Front

I finally got around to putting the rest of the brick sheeting on the house. The color was too plastic and too red for me so I set about using an antiquing medium on the whole thing. Although not finished (there's some touching up to do), I really like the effect. It's uneven with darker spots and lighter spots, plus some white "grout" showing through. Impatient as always, I went ahead and put some of the windows in so I could get the effect. I'm glad I did because now I don't like the dark red color of the gables. It doesn't match the brick and ends up making the whole thing look too gloomy. I'm thinking about applying an ivory-ish crackling medium over the dark red gables and seeing if I don't like that better. Here also is my first attempt at a stained glass window. This window leads to the bathroom.
