With the kitchen construction at near completion and only a few items left for the parlor, I decided to do another full dry fit of the house. The gables and their shingles have warped while in the box, so I'll have to do some minor touchups. But, it actually helps with the worn down appearance. The gable trim will be white, but the roof will be dark like the portico roof. It's a very dramatic contrast I want to keep for the finished build.
