20111207 N9 carveddoors process

Another three-day project. We had a space for double doors cut into the side of Niall 9 and I realized this was a chance for a large expanse of boring... or something much finer. I had seen carved doors quite similar to this in a real-life retail shop, and I decided that if some master carver could do such a thing from seven-foot-high wood, then certainly I could do it seven-inches-high.<div><br></div><div>Here you see one door ready for a final sanding, and one door waiting to be carved, with the sketching I would use as my guide already pencilled in.</div>
