<hr>On the outside, once we'd decided to elevate the Spring Fling house, it needed a proper old entry staircase.<div><br></div><div>Scrap wood made the stairs; small, square brass "rods," with every other one twisted by hand between vise and pliers (a lot of breakage in this process, have patience if you try it), give the look of wrought iron (more believable later when they've been painted black); the handrail is carved bass.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
