Fairfield fireplace

After many years with unfinished fireplaces in the Fairfield's downstairs rooms, I bit the bullet and painted these. They are resin fireplaces that came from Miniatures.com. I started with green and liked how it looked, but decided it was too dark (especially in the dining room, which has a blue color scheme), so I did the second one gray. I like the gray much better and now need to buy another so the two fireplaces will match. I'll hold onto the green for another project.
To paint these, I painted a bit at a time and then ''sponged'' off the wet paint with a paper towel. I spread the gold on the embellishments with a toothpick. More details and pics on my blog. I also posted a tutorial showing how I painted the fireplaces here.
