Rusty sette with saggy old cushions
For the seat cushion and pillow, I used some of the tea-stained fabric I had from the mattress for Baslow Ranch. The fabric actually comes printed this way. I made it similarly to the mattress in that I used millinery batting for the stuffing, two scant layers. Just enough to give the impression that it might have been comfortably plump at some point a long time ago. I knew Lyssa would never forgive me if I didn't have some stuffing sticking out in a couple of places! I glued the cushion to the settee so I could shape it and have it a little droopy in the front. The pillow has seed beads in it, though decidedly less than I normally use for stuffing, just to give it a sorry, sagging appearance. It's rather sad, no? Will someone please take grandma to the store for some better outdoor furniture?!!!
