rustic braided rug

WyckedWood

Well, I just finished this rug. I think its borderline scale wise. I will probably use it though. I did learn a few things for future reference. When I do another one, I am going to try decreasing the width of the strips, at least a little. Also the darker colors may work better for keeping this looking more in scale. After braiding the strips,I didnt use any glue or interfacing, just hand stitched the braids together on the back of the rug. Fun project, I will be making more of these and try to get them scaled down a little.

I think the scale looks great. My mom had one that looked that way and took up most of her dining area except it was in blues. Very cool.

Thank you all very much,I appreciate it. I do have arthritis in my hands so I usually pay for these little projects for at least a day or two, lol. There may come a day when I cant do this kind of needlework at all though,so Im going to do as much as I can while I can and keep stocked up on the Glucosamine;)
