Half scale Rosedale - window seat

fov

I built a window seat into the bay window. This will be a combined kitchen / dining room so the window seat will provide an additional bit of comfy seating. (It *will* be comfy... I'll add cushions!) I left off the window sill and put the seat flush against the trim. The front part is made from decorative molding I got on clearance at Michael's last year. Initially I thought I would paint the whole thing to match the trim, but now I'm considering a trim-colored seat with a stained front. These pieces aren't glued in yet; I'll wait to see how the room looks with the dining table before I decide.

My favorite part of this picture is the giant receipt behind the window...

I like the color, (instead of stain) and then you could do cushions in the same blue as the door...that would pop that color into the room!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to wait to decide until I see it with the table and maybe until after I put in the kitchen cabinets (which will be on the left side of this room -- it's a long room!) I wasn't thinking of the dark stain of the stairs, but something lighter.

But I also don't want to end up with too many different stain colors. The floorboards came that way so they're not something I can match.

I love the idea of a window seat, and nicely executed, too! I love seeing the way you made the Rosedale your own - very creative tweaks. Looks just great.

I haven't finished looking at all the pictures - hoping you posted more when you were done. I'd love to see the finished version.
