I couldn't find a tutorial on how these clay shingles were made. So I just started with trial and error. First I ran my clay through my pasta maker to flatten and then again to cut it in to uniform strips. Then it was just a matter of notching the clay strips in to individiual shingles and applying them with glue onto the roof section. Every couple of rows I went back and added texture to the shingles with the edge of my xacto knife. I have no idea if this is proper, or if it will even work as I can't find Paperclay here in Calgary, but so far it's looking good.
