The House stripped back

Scotty

You can see that the structure is an old cigarette crate - the factory markings are still on it from Wills Cigarette Factory in Bristol.

How cool is that! My husband and I have restored a couple of old homes and that was one of the best parts - discovering the history under the wallpaper.

yes I'm loving finding all the history attached to this house. Alexander, my intention is to keep decorate it as close to the original as possible. I know I won't be able to get all the papers to match (and to be honest some of them were very drab) but I'd like to keep to the era as closely as I can. I will re-do the external decor as it was done in 1930 using brick papers and sandpaper as pebbledash.

I'd love to find a house with stairs like that. They don't take up wall space and are so much nicer than average dollhouse stairs. This will be so nice when you get it all wallpapered etc.
