Victorian richness

Smallscale

I love how the floors are looking so rich. It's really starting to have the Victorian feel.

What are you using for the floors?

I'm using houseworks half scale black walnut flooring. It comes on a backed sheet so all you have to do is cut it to size. I then varnished it with a clear satin. I sanded it very lightly then did a second coat of varnish.

We just got our Fairfield kit.... I love your dark floors; how did you go about getting the wiring in? How you going to hide the wires. What kind of glue did you use for the wallpaper & other stuff?

Can't wait to see your Fairfield!

I used the fireplace cavity to hide the the wires. For the wallpaper I used mini graphics wallpaper paste, for the flooring I used tacky glue because you don't want anything with too much moisture or the floors will not be nice and flat, I used wood glue to put the actual house together, but be careful as wood glue is permanent! I highly recommend dry fitting as you go before permanent gluing. See my blog for more pictures http://halfscalefairfield.blogspot.com/
