Willowcrest - full front.

rbytsdy

This house is boxed up and ready to ship! I had been wanting to build the Willowcrest for some time now, so was very glad to have a new niece on the way soon after it was re-released. My new niece's sister is the one who got the Beacon Hill-- when I go visit them, I should try to get a photo of the two houses together!

The exterior paint is Olympic interior latex semigloss in "Rendezvous". The windows gave me fits because I did not follow the instructions and install the exterior frames first before the interior frames... Note to self...! I used blue Gallery Glass paint on the upper "panes" of the windows but did not like how it turned out so I draperied and curtained pretty heavily to mitigate that.

The base is 1/4" plywood with quarter-round trim; the "grass" is powders glued onto a (painted) paperclay foundation. The shrubbery and flowers are plastic, and stuck into the paperclay foundation; I glued on little decorative stones for the flowerbeds.

This wasn't the easiest house and I thank Gina (MoreMinis) for her Willowcrest build blog, to which I referred quite often. And it sure was difficult to photograph because there are so many little spaces crowded up into each other.

Thanks for looking!

I love the Willowcrest. I really want to do one as well, but I'm not sure my place could handle another project. One day, one day.

Your Willowcrest is just amazing. You did a great job.

I looked through your whole album - making me drool and want a willowcrest! You did such a beautiful job and all of the little details and woodwork really make this a beautiful piece. Give yourself a hearty pat on the back - great job!

Your Willocrest is beautiful! I'm going to start one for my niece and I hope it comes out half as good as yours. Thanks for posting the info on the blog. My Beacon Hill was also difficult.
