Shy Spirit Picture 2

Mini Man

The land is Egypt ... the time is now ... and also, Eternity. Behold the lost tomb of an Egyptian Queen! The archaeologist can't believe his luck as he views the sarcophagus and assorted pots, baskets, statues - vital "supplies" that were buried with her. Above the hallway he sees her name carved inside two cartouches. (Actually my own name - Rosalind!) What lies at the end of that intriguing hallway? We can look into a room that he cannot see ... the Queen is reborn into her Eternity! She holds fresh green papyrus shoots in her arms as she sits upon her throne. Her pet leopard laps milk from a copper bowl. She is surrounded by familiar belongings, and is happy in the knowledge that she will now live forever ... but where is her King? And her sweet little Fan-bearer? They will arrive soon, O Queen - and you shall be happy forever!

******************************************************************************************************

The Queen's room is the main room of this year's Spring Fling, and the tomb is the additional room. I haven't shown the placement of the two pieces, but I decided to have the addition right behind the main doors. (So the hallway really does lead to the Queen!)

The photos were taken without the roofs in place, to allow for better light. I left the slanting roof (that reminded me of a pyramid) on the main structure, but cut the wall on the addition and made the roof there flat. (I liked the enclosed, tomb-like atmosphere of the lower ceiling.)

I had a wonderful time working with this laser-cut beauty. Thank you very much for all the forum community support - and fun - that you so generously give.

Sincerely,

Rosalind F (a.k.a. Shy Spirit)

Rosalind, this is ultra-cool...never in a million years would I have thought "Egyptian Tomb" - how very, very clever - and so very well executed! WTG!

Thank you, everyone. I hope to open an album with more pics soon ... but I'm such a slowpoke when it comes to techno stuff! :)

What a beautiful rendition, and so cleverly and beautifully executed! Having just recently seen the "Mummies of the World" exhibit at the California Science Center, it is doubly meaningful. :)
