Dormers before paint

WyckedWood

This is what they looked like right after the drywall mud was piped on with a cake decorator bag. I used small dots, stars and leaves and a swag type tip. After this dries completely it gets one coat of paint, very gently applied with a small brush. That seals it down and makes it stronger. After that dries, I applied modpodge with a small paint brush, which makes it almost plastic feeling to the touch and totally un~chippable:) After that dries, I painted over all with a watercolor type wash for aging. If the modpodge is applied too thickly some of the detail is lost,so I went as thin as possible, but still getting behind the design and under it,wherever it met the wood and also over the top of it. When I started out I didnt know what I was going to do for the design,so I just outlined everything with small dots or lines, after that just filled in with stars or leaves, whatever felt right.
