Living room progress

Sherry

The walls are papered and the floor glued down, although I still need to trim between the tile and the wood. The solid paper on the fireplace wall is a textured print that was made to match the stripe. It sure doesn't show in the photo well. The fireplace is just set in there to see how it looks. I like it!

Brae, it's all homemade from junk I had. Balsawood blocks glued together, the insert is made of window trim and stripwood, a plastic donut box for the doors, tiny seed beads for the knobs on the door and a silver bead for the fan knob at the bottom. Marble print paper and a pen blank from the exotic woods shop for the mantel. Total cost-$1 for the pen blank.

Deb, while the room is large, the way it's laid out and with the staircase going in the left side by the front door, there's not a lot of useable floor space. I could put the baby grand piano in the bay but it wouldn't leave much room for anything else.

Very classy Sherry! I like the fireplace. The whole room looks like it is coming together nicely. Can't wait to see the finished results! :thumb:

Oh yes yes the grand piano would really make it!

Lynn, it's actually scrapbook paper. There's an entire line all coordinated to go together. Each one has a print on one side and a linen looking solid on the other. I got stripes, a couple of tiny prints, and one really extreme one, all with the same color scheme throughout the set. A good way to make sure all your rooms match, anyway! And there are several sets in different colors. I got them at Michael's, if you're in the market for paper.
