otterine 4,559 Posted January 18, 2010 Looks o.k.?!! This is awesome! It looks like metal, and it looks like it works. Is it all clay or is any part of it metal? If it's all clay, how in the world did you get those perfect cylinders, washer shapes and sharp edges? Quote Link to comment
cjme63 5 Posted January 18, 2010 The main shaft of it is a plastic tube (from - you'll laugh - my dog's used up roll of poop bags) and the rest is strips or circles cut from black clay. Then I painted the whole thing with black model paint and a coat of clear gloss, which helped alot in making it look like metal. The smallest bit in the plunger (or whatever it's called) is a piece of black covered electrical wire. The clay spout of course was the hardest part and I had to work it quite awhile to get it right. I baked the clay bits for 25 minutes and they were still rather bendy - is that normal? Anyway, thanks for the comments! Quote Link to comment
