Paint the furniture! I have that same cabinet and painted it black for my dining area. You could go lighter for your room.

We think alike I have considered painting it a lighter color. The lighting helps.

Personally, I love love the warm, dark wood tones and think this combination (wallpaper, tile, and furniture) is perfect just the way it is. It looks rich and luxurious.
