Buoys, life preserver & driftwood

mesp2k

Lobster buoy - turned & painted on wood lathe, skewers & string added.

Life preserver - also made with lathe. Distressed the LP slightly. Used red painted masking tape for the bands. The string for the buoy & LP I painted with a thinned brown acrylic paint.

The driftwood experiment - I burned the piece of strip wood then wire brushed it. then wiped on thinned grey, white & black paint.

Thanks Linda,

I think I mentioned that I liked your gallery stuff in previous comment? Too much information for my little brain to keep track of. :idiot:

I really like your attention to aging detail, Mike. Even in this presentation, the individual bits look very realistic. How clever of you to burn the stripwood ... makes a very credible looking piece of driftwood.
