Siding redone

Jo Med

This pic is of the redone siding with a very thin coat of undercoat - anyone going for a really weathered look on their house should do this as it looks very much like an old house waiting for love and attention. I will give it a top coat because Victoria Villa is a house belonging to a modern family who are doing it up bit by bit. I think they would have made the outside very smart so that's the look I am going for.

Excellent results! But I'm kinda slow- Did you still glue the back and then top coat it with undercoating??Then you can paint later?? It looks grand!

hi Llyn,

Yes I put the siding on without painting it first. I glued each piece with hot glue on the top, bottom and sides and made sure it was really well stuck down before moving on to the next piece. Then I painted it with a coat of oil based undercoat and finally 2 coats of cream emulsion. I don't know if the undercoat made a difference but I'm not risking the same problem again so I will use it on the rest of the house.
