The front door

KathieB

Have been thinking about the front door. Now that the octagonal windows have colorful stained glass, the front door with its screened panels looks ... well, I don't like it. I can't think of a way to get the panels out without destroying the door. I ordered a screen door from BHS, but I'm not sure that's the answer, either. We'll see when it gets here. Now I'm thinking I'm just going to have to make a new front door. I have some thin pieces of basswood that could be glued together to make a door ... and I could put any shape of stained glass in it that strikes my fancy.

Kathie, have you tried Gallery Glass? You could just pick a color and go over the glass on the door. If that doesn't work out, you could then start from scratch. It might be worth a try . . . the door looks so pretty!

I didn't see Gallery Glass at Wal-Mart and am too far from Michael's to run over for one item. I used the paint that Wal-Mart has, and it seemed to work okay for the octagons. I've already made a new front door
