The Arthur Final Pics COME ON IN!

Bree1978

Hello! come on in and sit a spell.....The Arthur is done! I'll try to get a better side pic to add later. I'm so happy even though it is a few days late! I'd like to hear comments, advice, and critique before I give it to sil!

As I said I'm already a day late and a dollar short so what's another.....lol!

I made all the new trim and boxes. The flowers are statice that I grew last summer. The door fixture is from HBS. I used real gravel stone for the foundation. I also used square hinges from HBS to attach the door. Pretty simple, glue and go...The fleur-de-lis is from an anklet bracelet I took apart. The shrubs are smaller scale train trees I got from an etsy seller.

Also a big thanks to PATBIDLACK, without her I would have never built an Arthur! Thank you!

Your trim really does work for the whole contemporary aesthetic you were going for, it looks great! I wish I could do porch railing like you.

I don't see why you couldn't! It was really easy. I just made templates of trim (Or you can use existing trim to get right size, just change shape) I wanted them and others I did, gulp, measure. Then I took a band saw and set the guides to how I wanted them....Some of the pieces I only used a metal straight edge and my stanley, scored a few times and viola! New piece! You could (if you had the patience)do it with any piece you wanted to make. Or a jig saw would probably be nice but I don't have one...A few roof trim pieces are balsa wood I got at Michael's, not too expensive and SOOOOOO easy to cut.

Thank you for the complements!

Thank you Liza, Ann, and Linda too!
