Firplace #2

Ok, so one more worry that I have and it's not that big of a deal. I would like to put in some faux logs/lights to give the appearance that the fire is burning. I have already built the fireplace but it's looking like it might be a little shallow to put anything in. Should i re-build it to make it deeper or could I pull it off??
