Frozen in time ... for about six months
This Orchid was a Christmas present from me to me. I've wanted to do a dollhouse for a long time, and couldn't think of a reason not to start. The Orchid appealed to me because it is small and inexpensive. I figured if I made a total mess of it, no big loss.
Then I had a chance to help finish a larger -- 9-room -- dollhouse for a local charity. During the 2 months it took do do this, I worked with an old hand at miniatures and learned a lot. Then I found the Greenleaf Miniature Community and am learning more and more every day!
Now that the bigger house is finished and on its way to auction, I pulled out the Orchid and took another look at it. This is what it looked like after its hibernation. I didn't put stucco on the bare side because I wasn't sure how I was going to mount the electrical connection.
(BTW, the bigger dollhouse can be seen at my Fotki photo page
