I loved working with the Scenarama water effects. It comes ready to pour... They suggest a base of plaster of paris. Once dry, paint it the color you want to give your water source (in my case a campy, over-chemical treated blue), then pour the water effect solution over it. The solution takes overnight to dry, so you have plenty of time to smooth it out. Once dried, you can use a second container called water effects - it looks like paste. You paint it where you want ripples, ice, falls, etc. I wanted water splashing up onto the rocks in the 'cemented' area. It dries clear, so whatever paint you add to it is the color the slightly translucent 'waves' will become.
