Brookwood Back with Chimney Done.jpg

wenlaine

I'm trying to think of some way that I can remove the railings that go on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I may be able to do something about the 2nd floor but the 3rd floor one supports the roof so I'm not sure if I can do anything with that one. I've also made a staircase for the second floor and cut the hole in the 3rd floor. All the templates for flooring have been made so now I just have to figure out what type of flooring I'm going to do.

I also cut off that ladder type thing that runs down the side of the 2nd floor chimney. Heaven only knows what that was there for!

Wendy, you're doing an incredible job! love the fireplace. How about using parts of the railing as support beams. then maybe in a couple of areas have posts from floor to ceiling as your support. That is the only thing i don't like about this house, the railings. i think they are too big and not a nice design feature. I love the overall look of the house, except for the railings.

Thanks Marg, I totally agree with you. The house is a great design but I too don't care for those railings either. I think I have come up with a solution I'll have to try out tomorrow. Where there's a will, there's a way!
