Pewter Duck

Lynette Smith

This small duck, if memory serves, contained a pair of earrings and belonged to my mother. My mother did wood carving and had a collection of birds.

The duck has a rotating head and the top half comes off. Inside the bottem is engraved in relief "To love something is to let it be free" beneath which is a raised cattail motiff. The bottem of the duck is engraved "Collectable No.33 Genuine Pewter". Inside the lid it is marked copyright ms dee.

The duck reminds me of those glass chickens out of depression glass (which I've always wanted). I'd be curious to know if anybody else has something similar (it is #33 afterall).
