Here's what the battery operated mini lights look like. Michael's sells them, they are kept in the floral supplies section and they are $4.00 per set. Each light bulb is on an individual wire and each wire is about 18" long. I needed a few of my wires a little longer so I bought an additional set to use the wire for splicing. All you need to do is place the battery pack in a central location in your dollhouse, you can hide it in a cabinet or under a bed, then run the wires to the locations where you want the lights. I ran my wiring under the floor and up through the chimney.

Thanks for sharing your great ideas! I am looking for a method easier than tape wire, my last house pushed my patience to the limit!
