After I do whatever priming I'm going to do I hit the floor treatments before assembly because of accessibility issues.
I stuck the iron-on veneer "boards" down with a bead of Elmer's all-purpose glue and when they were all in place I ironed them on with my iron set on "linen". When they cooled I trimmed them with my utility knife and stained them and, when they were dry, sealed them.
I used paint sample chips for the bathroom tiles, I had so many left over from the impluvium of the Roman atrium.
