Sharon C 9 Posted March 16 I'm about to begin my first commissioned work on what HAS been my OWN Victoria's Farmhouse. I sold it because I'm moving and getting rid of 4 other dollhouses, already built in various stages. I'm a little nervous, but won't reveal my nerves to the buyer. She wants a couple rooms swapped as well as flooring and wallpaper do-over. While I'm confident about the results of the original finished product, pulling off the wallpaper with tape wire and sconces on the wall, leaves me doubting it can be flawlessly re-vamped. I can only go by what I'd like to see as the results and all should go well. I'm very critical of my work and so should she, if she finds anything not up to par. Good luck with your 5th job. I hope to get there one day 1 Quote Link to comment

I hope to get there one day Hi there, I know it may be sliiiightly unrelated but I was wondering what size and like, how much you were able to get it to sell for? I'm hoping to build a few smaller houses and sell them to get a larger one, and I want to make sure that I'm giving reasonable prices. (currently building the Orchid) Quote Link to comment
Sharon C 9 Posted April 10 @Kat Truhart I don't get on the Greenleaf Forum much, but I think(?) there are unspoken rules(?) about what a house sold for. I think...? Forgive me if I'm wrong about this, but I never know how to respond to these types of questions (publicly). I'd say the worst that can happen is I'd be reprimanded and ostracized, but here goes: I sold it for close to $600.00, fully assembled, painted, wallpapered and electrified (tape wired). Forty + bulbs in all with a transformer included to support the lighting. Of course, everyone on this site believes they should've sold their dollhouse for more, given the hours of love we put into our work. It remained on Marketplace for a week before the buyer asked if it were still available. She gushed over the house and arranged for her shipper to pick it up from my house in Florida from Boston. She proceeds to ask if I may change a "few things" in the house. Those small things turned into a renovation costing MORE than the original price I asked for! I have a Thornhill I am chomping at the bit to begin work on, but as mentioned, I'll be moving to a MUCH smaller location, but can't imagine parting with my dollhouses. I have a beautiful Brownstone, a Worthington and the Thornhill I'm attempting to bring with me. Which dollhouse will you be interested in purchasing once you complete the Orchid? The Queen always intimidated me ~ Sharon Quote Link to comment
