Modern Table Construction

Keifer

For the coffee table in the Great room I knew I needed something unique and space was limited. So I thought a shape that worked with the curve of the sofa could solve my space issue. I started with thin peel & stick type tiles cut into the shape I wanted. I then stacked them to get the desired height. Sanded and filed into the final shape and then painted a high gloss black. I then added a piece of bent aluminum, which was also cut, sanded and polished.

A lot of work but for a wonderful result ! I love that sleek modern look !!

Thank you!  It’s almost too modern for me, I think some accessories might ground it a bit.

Wow ! ! !

I know…a lot of work for a simple table. I probably could have achieved the same result in a much easier way with wood and some paint.  I’ve noticed with the majority of my furniture builds, I’ll make something just to see if it can be done.
