Tigpuppy 207 Posted May 20, 2020 I like the authenticity of the hinges, but I haven't figured out how to avoid these gaps. Right now I'm leaning more towards tape hinges or pin hinges, but I haven't made up my mind yet. Quote Link to comment
Medieval 519 Posted May 20, 2020 I probably made it worse because I used a drummel tool to grind wood away in the shape of the hinge. It's not perfectly flat. First time I used that tool. My purpose was to sink the hinge into the frame to reduce the gap. That contributed to the crookedness. I think the smoke and mirrors approach will be for me moving forward. Use the tape and glue a hinge in just for looks not function. But it doesn't help with this debacle. Lol 1 Quote Link to comment
Mid-life madness 2,529 Posted May 20, 2020 You did a great job with the doors. Double hinge doors are difficult. pat yourself on the back. When you have the house built, most people won't notice the gap. Hinges are not my friend. I think pin hinging has been the most successful for me. Quote Link to comment

Medieval 519 Posted May 20, 2020 Oh thanks! I'll check it out. I need them to hang better cause I'm raffling this puppy off when I'm done. And now's the time to make changes. Not when whole house glued together. lol. Quote Link to comment
