I hadn't planned on distressing anything. The house will be set in a period close to when it would have been built, so it wouldn't have 160 years of age on it. I just wanted to see what it might look like if I did.

Thank you Kathie. I like how it turned out but I only went so far as to what I could paint over. I'd have done a few more steps to give it the full-on age treatment but those would have been irreversible.

Geez, I'm glad you commented which made me come back to reply. I only just now noticed that the shutters are right-side up but the window is upside-down. That lintel is actually the sill. Glad that caught my attention. I could totally see myself gluing them into the house upside-down!
