Black steel screen

otterine

Trying out two materials for the screen door. The black steel is more durable but a little large for scale. The aluminum micro mesh is better for scale but damages easily. The damaged bits rather add to the realism, though. I will test these in dry fit with the building to make a final decision.

I love the deep panels on that door. Did you build it yourself?

I'm using a Houseworks 5-panel traditional door for the solid door, but the screen door is a scratch build.  I'll also end up building my own frame to hold both doors since the original Houseworks frame most likely won't be deep enough for two doors.

What a weird optical illusion. I see the raised panels in your other pictures. In this one it looks like deep rails & stiles with no raised panels within. May I ask what color green you used? If you said it elsewhere, I missed it.

The green is Woodland Green by Americana - a satin paint that goes on super thin, so lots of coats are needed.

I've tried five different Americana  greens on the shutters of my French Quarter house but I didn't see that one. I'll check it out. Thank you!
