Hanging the alligator....

Shareb

The slings used are correct but you're never shown how they attach to the ceiling.  I didn't want to attach directly to the ceiling so instead have this 'wrought iron' frame coming out from the top of the cabinet space.  Does this look okay?  Would there be a better way of doing this?  I couldn't help but add a few things in to see what it looks like!  The step is finished, the lights are attached and I completed the drawers by adding beads for the drawer knobs.

I think the piece to suspend the alligator works. Will the room be viewed from the front and enclosed (have a ceiling)? If so, it will be fairly unnoticed because, alligator!

Yep - it's a front opening building so you'll see it from the front and there is a heap to go in front of it.  It does have a ceiling here - although I'm probably going to do some sort of decoration on it.  And you're right - Alligator!!!!  :D

I think it looks wonderful!  The piece you have added makes perfect sense, as it would be much sturdier than simply putting hooks in the ceiling.  The beads look good, too.  How exciting that this is coming together!

Thanks all!  I have since finished the counter and almost finished another wall.  The pillars are coming along - I almost tore my hair out in frustration but hubby helped thankfully!!
