Back wall Apothecary done

Shareb

Back wall of the Apothecary shop almost complete!  I need to do something for all the drawer knobs (the drawers on each side inside the middle bit) - I have tiny beads which I could use or I could just use a dob of gold.  I'll try both and see how they look.  The aligator is ready to hang - I may have to shorten the straps a little but I'll have to wait until it's sitting in place to check it.  I've also started working on the little step that you can see peeking out at the right hand bottom.  This will give the illusion of stairs going up to the next floor - his living quarters.  Then I get to stock the shelves!! I have no idea yet which wall I'll work on next - it's really hard to tell the layout from the pictures I have of the set. Plus I don't think I can fit everything in, so I'm going to have to decide what to leave out.

Wow, that is fantastic.  You do amazing work.  Love the colors you chose.   Your trim work is spot on.  It's so hard to get that even when you have so much of it to put on.  I know how tedious and time consuming it is to apply it so perfectly.  Your efforts really paid off in making this cabinet.  Don't you just love it when your plans turn out how you wanted them too.

You should be very proud of yourself. It’s even better than the picture!! It’s been a joy to follow along on your build. Your work is AMAZING......Love your Alligator, he’s a perfect fit....

This is absolutely gorgeous, and what a lot of work with all that gold!  And all that shirring of fabric in behind.  You are really doing a marvelous job on recreating your apothecary shop.    I, too, can't want to see all your little bottles and jars in place.  Love the croc/alligator you found!  He's going to be perfect.

Thankfully as I'm working from pics I didn't have to choose colours - it just happens to be the same colour as my wagon!  The paint is beautiful to work with.  Yes - that trim is exceptionally tedious and I have another three walls plus various pillars to do!  I should be a pro by the end of it!  Yes - generally speaking I am really happy with it.  The good thing about using card is that you're not using expensive materials and so if something doesn't work, you can just scrap it and try again.  That was learned by watching some very clever people on this site!

Brilliant! What fun you must be having, despite (or because of?) the challenges. :)

I was lying in bed thinking of how I was going to do something the other night.  I realised that mentally I was grinning and loving every bit of the challenge!!

Yep - he was one of my first purchases for this build.  I thought it would be hard to find exactly what I needed but I found him on a Chinese site and he is perfect!!

The gold pens I bought for the wagon have certainly come in handy!!  I've bought another couple since!  The fabric....I am so not a fabric girl - it is the one medium which I really, really struggle with.  The shirring may be a little big but by the time I put stuff in front, it'll be okay.  It was while I was looking at the sign that hangs in front that I realised that the two higher shelves also had the material behind.  So I had to rip off the backs which were already on there to replace them with the material.  Yep - I love the alligator too!!!

Wow Rebecca!!!! Your vision is spot on. Pat yourself on the back! I bet Diana Gabaldon would be in awe.

I guess in the back of my mind, when I've finished I'd like to put pics of it on a couple of Outlander sites to see what they think.  I know fans (of anything) are exacting so.....hence my trying to do it as close to the pics as possible.  Now of course I have to decide what to do next.  I think I may work on the counter as that's probably the second most important part to get right.
