New fireplace

Shareb

So I decided that the other fireplace I made was too fancy and too large for the space.  So I made this much more simple, narrow fireplace.  I found some little tiles that had been part of a bigger tile sample that we got when doing our bathroom.  I put some on the inside walls of the fireplace and the others I used to create the hearth.

Nice use of materials.

Thanks - I made the base of the fireplace out of a NZ native timber - Rimu.  I felt so bad painting it!!  But the natural fire surrounds that I saw from that era were all beautifully carved so it was either paint or that! :D
