I got the sweet little boy and girl dolls with a set of other dolls I bought on ebay a while ago, and I've been thinking they'd be perfect for Hansel and Gretel. I've always been fascinated by Grimm's fairy tales in general and this old world nightmare in particular. Now I've become obsessed with building the witch's gingerbread house (to be a Buttercup), even though I'm up to my neck in another dollhouse project. While I'm waiting for the kit to arrive (hopefully today!) I decided to make the witch. I'll be listening to her as I try to create her enticing and dangerous little house.

Great job on the witch I think the children are perfect too.

Looking forward to seeing this  house done.

What a wonderful witch!  Isn't it fun to be so inspired?  Looking forward to your gingerbread house.  The Buttercup will be great for that.

I wish we still had the emoticons to express my admiration for your awesome wee witch!

Thank you so much, Holly! When did we lose the emoticons? I was away for quite a while.

Thank you! I think this house is going to be done pretty fast. I seem to have been taken over by it. :)

Your witch is perfect, what medium do you use? This will be a fun project :)

Oh thank you Karin! I made her head and hands out of paperclay - the little bit of shrinking and cracking as it dried didn't hurt her looks too much :) The rest of her is just cardboard, wire, and bits of fabric. You're right, I haven't even started on the house but I'm having fun already!

Thank you! Yes, it is pure joy when the project seems to take on a life of its own. And I love the little Buttercup. I can't wait to start building!
