Making eyes

Shareb

I dipped the large ball into a dark colour and then into the indent in the eye.  When that was dry I used the small end and a lighter colour.  When that was dry I used a toothpick for the black pupil.  Then I used Mod Podge dimensional magic to give the gloss 3D finish.  I could only get silver from our closest craft shop but as I didn't shake the bottle it came out clear.

Very ingenious...I love hearing how people improvise. The eyes look great. How many millimeters do they measure?

I studied up on the various techniques on Youtube.  The lady I copied this from used liquid Sculpty and then used a heat gun to cure the liquid so that it turned clear.  However I kept finding that you had to heat them so much that the whites would end up burning and it wasn't that clear anyway.  It was my daughter who told me about the Mod Podge dimensional stuff and that worked perfectly!  They measure 3mm.  I also tried making polymer clay 'canes' but they used a huge amount of clay and didn't turn out overly well.
