Two new paintings - Autumn leaves.JPG

A couple of new paintings of Autumn scenes. I have two more to do and then our Jodi gets to pick one as part of a swap deal. She's building me a fabulous sink for the San Franciscan's basement and she gets an Autumn painting of her choosing in return. :)

The first one is my interpretation of this painting tutorial and the second one is my hilarious attempt at trying to reproduce this painting from the 30 second clip in the video.. lol.. There was a lot of hitting the pause button and a few magic words for good measure. :D It didn't really turn out like the original which I prefer.. but I'm still happy with it.

Samantha, these just keep getting more amazing!  The detail is just exquisite.  I don't think your second painting is hilarious at all!  :)

I can't wait to see which one I pick either! I think I am going to have to draw straws or something because they are both just too amazing!

I am going to have a couple choices for you in the next couple days, too! :cheezy: Mirror frame finish and basket color! Getting so close now!

I actually prefer the bottom one, the top one is too cheery for me (too much color for my dark soul :p)

that was a very short clip, I love how he’s like “ you just dab on some paint and bam you have trees”.  I think we all know its not that simple.  The fact that you could pull off that painting just from that clip shows your talent and progress as a painter...well done.

I forgot, I wanted to add that your perspectve in all your paintings is really good.  That is something a lot of people struggle with, myself included.  Its so important because its what really draws you into a painting.

They both have their merits I think.. You are correct that the top one is very colourful.. :D  But they are actually both more subdued in RL.. for some reason my ancient Iphone makes all colour in pictures brighter..... That "tutorial" and I use that term loosely.. was hilarious.. there was a silly amount of me going wait-what??... rewind. lol

Yeah, I've really been working on my perspective.. I've watched quite a few tutorials on that.. It's something I want to master so I know where to "place" things in my composition. Thanks for noticing. :D
