BeaconHill-colors-test.jpg

I wanted to test the color I had picked for the siding, I was undecided between this dark magenta or dark plum. I thought the plum might have looked too dark for what I had in mind, but seeing this color in direct light it's a lot brighter than I expected. Thoughts?

This is the color scheme I got inspiration from.

I like it a lot.  I think the contrast with trim is just right.  Roof color?

Not sure yet, perhaps black or dark grey.

I second the desire to see the plum. I like the magenta, really. But, I get the feeling the richness of plum (I'm partial to deeper colors, myself) might look lovely as well.

Also, how many coats of magenta are on the panel in this photo? Perhaps another coat would enrich this color?

This panel is lovely so I think you can safely go either way! :)

Two coats so far. I might pick the dark plum when I go back to the store, but when I compared them on a piece of papper it looked so dark. Perhaps it looks diferent on wood, I might try it later on a piece and put them side by side.

I think I would like to see the plum, too.  I like your inspiration picture.  Not sure about the red on an entire house.

I'll get a bucket of plum and try it on a small piece later, it looked very dark when I tested them at the store side by side. I was afraid of the whole house looking a bit too dark, but now I'm a bit thorn as in direct sunlight it's a lot brighter than I thought it would be.

As a printer I so love a good magenta . Most people don't even know as a printer that's a basic color we print to make up all colors . Though I do believe a lot of you here will know that .
